The Clear Dream Match will highlight TV5’s weekend slate of programs this week.
Three TV5 shows will not be seen this weekend for various reasons.
The Clear Dream Match, pitting the teams led by James and Phil Younghusband, will be aired live on TV5 tonight at 8:00 p.m. The all-star football exhibition match will also feature two English football legends: Manchester United’s Paul Scholes and Andy Cole. The match will be held at the University of Makati Stadium.
Due to the Clear Dream Match, ‘One of the Boys’ and ‘Celebrity Dance Battle’ will be preempted for this week. New episodes for both shows will resume next week.
Meanwhile, TV5 also reported that the second episode of ‘JasMine’ will not air tomorrow. According to the report, the taping for that particular episode last Friday was halted after one of the production staff members allegedly had an unpleasant experience with a stalker. Director Mark Meily then ordered its staff to pack up, after which TV5 executives held an emergency meeting. A statement regarding its suspension has yet to be released.
The suspension of ‘JasMine’ was surprising, considering the series starring Jasmine Curtis-Smith had an auspicious debut. Now viewers must hope that its suspension will not affect the momentum that ‘JasMine’ generated from the previous week.
And for viewers of News5 programs, it was decided that TV5 will only air one newscast during weekends. This means ‘Aksyon Weekend’ will be the lone news program on Saturdays, while ‘Pilipinas News Weekend’ will be the lone news program on Sundays.
It should be an exciting and promising weekend for the Kapatids at TV5, as the Younghusbands attempt to break the tie in tonight’s Clear Dream Match.

Because of Jas-Mine’s suspension, TV5 will air Juan Direction at 9:15 pm tomorrow followed by the Miss Teen Philippines 2014 at 9:45 pm where Jasmine Curtis-Smith made a guest appearance.

Gusto ng TV5 mag-alternative programming na iba sa madalas makita ng masa sa 2 at 7. Niche programming ang tawag diyan, dahil nakatutok lang ito sa mga specific na market tulad ng teenagers, young adults at iba pa.
Mahirap talaga baguhin ng tv5 ang viewing habits ng viewers, for example, kinaugalian na manood ng news pag 6:30- 8-00. di sila sanay manood ng 6:00-7:00 ng news dahil masyadong maaga
Yan ang aspect ng niche programming. Magkaibang istilo ng programming para sa mga di pangkaraniwang viewers.

Yan nga ang resulta ng niche programming. Pero right now may ilang TV5 shows na pinapalabas ulit dahil may mga upcoming shows na ipinaplano ng istasyon.

Hindi nila pinapansin ngayon ang News TV. Basta they do their own thing para sa mga loyal viewers nila.
Saka sinabi naman ni Noel Lorenzana na magpapalabas sila ng mga programa na iba sa karaniwang pinapalabas sa 2 at 7. Whether you like it or not, ang ginagawa ngayon ng TV5 ay hindi para makipagkompetensya sa iba. Ito ay para sa benefit ng mga ilang viewers na nais maiba ang kanilang approach sa panonood ng TV.

But honestly, Aksyon is the only program that made TV5 continue its competition with ABS and GMA. Hence they are still a competitive network, but merely on news.
Not anymore. Even Aksyon is no longer that relevant with all those questionable moves they had. Heck, LCV no longer appears on that show owing to health concerns. I don’t think they’re legitimate anymore. Although they have Ed Lingao on a permanent basis he doesn’t even care about improving News5, which makes it worse.
Confessions of a Torpe is scheduled to end this Friday. No word yet on what show will replace it. TV5 is reportedly eyeing either the new Sharon Cuneta-Richard Gomez show or a musical-drama series ala-Glee.

According to the PBA, if either Air21 or Ginebra win tonight’s quarterfinal games, then there will be no PBA telecast tomorrow on TV5. This means that there may be Kuwentong Gilas tomorrow night at 9:30 pm featuring Paul Lee after the Tagalized movies.
But if both Alaska and Rain or shine win tonight, then the semis will begin tomorrow on TV5 live featuring Game 1 of the San Mig Coffee-Talk n Text best-of-five duel.
