ABS-CBN News’ resident humorist Marc Logan has a new rival coming up.
In response to Logan’s popular blooper show ‘Mga Kwento ni Marc Logan’, GMA announced a new show with a similar premise. Titled ‘Sabado-Badoo’, the upcoming comedy show will be hosted by Sef Cadayona and Betong Sumaya, and is scheduled to air beginning this Saturday.
‘Sabado-Badoo’ will showcase a wide variety of videos that are presented in a humorous manner. These will be shown in a variety of ways, from countdowns to mashups of other videos.
Unlike ‘Mga Kwento ni Marc Logan’, which occasionally presents straight-up blooper reels of ABS-CBN programs and Star Cinema films, ‘Sabado-Badoo’ is expected to feature more serious takes from classic GMA programs. It is up to Sef and Betong to make a humorous comment with regards to the scenes in question.
This is not the first time that GMA produced a blooper-oriented comedy program. The popular mid-2000s program ‘Bitoy’s Funniest Videos’, hosted by Michael V., featured a similar formula and scope as ‘Sabado-Badoo’.
Unlike ‘BFV’, however, a more daunting test awaits ‘Sabado-Badoo’. Since premiering in August of last year, ‘Mga Kwento ni Marc Logan’ consistently ranks among the top-rated programs in the country, and several of its blooper reels (e.g. ‘Crazy Beautiful You’) have trended on Twitter.
That said, Marc Logan’s wit and experience in the industry will be a major challenge to the young duo of Sef Cadayona and Betong Sumaya. Although the two have blossomed individually in programs such as the long-running gag show ‘Bubble Gang’, presenting a program of this magnitude is virtually new territory for them.
Still, GMA is confident that Sef and Betong will deliver their chops well on ‘Sabado-Badoo’. After all, a stint in hosting will boost their resumes in the industry.
‘Sabado-Badoo’ premieres this Saturday after ’24 Oras Weekend’ on GMA’s Sabado Star Power.

Marc is the ultimate package. Pero ok din si Bitoy noon sa Bitoy’s Funniest Videos; he did everything. It’s just unfortunate na hindi siya ang host ng Sabado-Badoo since may Pepito Manaloto na siya.

Tingnan natin, since first week nila this Saturday. Pero my fearless forecast is that panalo pa rin si Marc Logan.

Siyempre they have success with Bubble Gang. Pero with Sabado-Badoo, IDK, since kalaban nila si Marc Logan na legitimally smart in terms of humor.

Pepito now airs after Sabado-Badoo. In short, diretsong katapat na nila ang Home Sweetie Home ng Dos.
May pagka-throwback ‘yung format ng Sabado-Badoo as they’ll feature old video clips from GMA’s former programs. Pero mas bet ko pa rin si Marc Logan, bonus na rin ang kanyang boses na tila laging tumatawa kapag nagsasalita. Ang ABS-CBN lang ang may ganyang news personality. Near-counterpart siya ni Laila Chikadora sa tv5. ‘Yung Bubble Gang nga, honestly speaking ay medyo floppy na rin eh.

pero ok na rin sina sef cadayona & betong sumaya, nakaktuwa din sila lalo na yung character nila sa bubble gang like yung character ni sef na si selfie moran na puro walang katuturan yung mga post niya na diya nanagalit ung nanay niya si donya ina (michael v) tapos yung character ni betong sumaya na si antonietta na bida-kontrabida na walang alam gawin kungdi punahin na punahin yung mga eksena sa kanyang teledramang antonietta with matching his lines ‘yan ang epekto na kapapanood ng mga soap opera’, televiewers, ‘telenovela’.
sef cadayona is a handsome comedian and good dancer, yung mukha niya nakakatuwa na (kwela din) mukha pa lang niya matutuwa na sa kanya! and also he has a commercial model, sef cadayona started his carrer as a commercial model of a ice cream brand in 2009 before he joined GMA’s starstruck in the same year (2009).
Pero are they in the same level as Marc Logan? We’ll see. Total proven na talented humorist si Marc since he’s also the writer and producer on the show he hosts.

Si Michael V. ang heart ng GMA Comedy. Magaling sya at matalino pero underrated. wag sana sya pakawalan ng GMA kasi sya tlga bumuhay ng comedy ng network.

Ito talaga ang downside ng GMA. They tend to challenge ABS-CBN by having a show with the same kind of format as that of ABS. Magsasawa na mga viewers nyan kasi walang variety ang mga palabas. Free TV is kind of flop these days. Specially when a lot of people alreadu have access to cable.
Ganon din naman ang ABS, albeit on a few occasions. Either way, it doesn’t help at all.
Don’t forget TV5, may YHO TUBE din sila, but mainly prank sports.

I have a Fun Fact about Betong Sumaya that he is a former Production Assistant for Cheche Lazaro’s the Probe Team before he became a comedian. 🙂

The success of MKML is ironic to think that Marc Logan hosted a similar show that tried to challenge Bitoy’s Funniest Videos some 10 years back: Video-king. As we know now, the show didn’t fare well. And then BFV ultimately bowed out. With no similar show in the airwaves, and with the advent of social media and YouTube (which BFV did not have then), Marc Logan easily won the Saturday early prime slot. As with all new shows, let’s wait and see.

In short, they’ll try to make tearjerking scenes of a classic drama series as funny as possible. Very daunting task to say the least.
