Turns out ‘Little Nanay’ won’t be facing ‘On the Wings of Love’ after all.
Instead of pitting two light-hearted dramas against each other, GMA decided at the last minute to shake up the lineup of Telebabad. ‘Little Nanay’ will now air at 7:45 p.m., while ‘MariMar’ and ‘Beautiful Strangers’ will now be bumped to later timeslots.
This means that ‘Little Nanay’ now be up against the action-oriented ‘Ang Probinsyano’, while ‘MariMar’ and ‘Beautiful Strangers’ will face ‘Pangako Sa ‘Yo’ and ‘On the Wings of Love’ respectively. The decision came as a last resort for the network, who still couldn’t find a way to beat Coco Martin and the KathNiel and JaDine love teams.
Prior to the timeslot change, both ‘MariMar’ and ‘Beautiful Strangers’ were not faring well against ‘Ang Probinsyano’ and ‘Pangako Sa ‘Yo’, respectively. The most recent national ratings report shows that the two GMA teleseryes were badly blown out by their ABS-CBN counterparts.
In making the timeslot change, GMA hopes that ‘MariMar’ and ‘Beautiful Strangers’ will fare at least a bit more decently than in their previous timeslots. Then again, they are still at a disadvantage, since they are up against the two hottest love teams in the country.
As for ‘Little Nanay’, it is a bit surprising to see the light-hearted drama go up against a more action-packed series in ‘Ang Probinsyano’. Nevertheless, even though they won’t be facing ‘On the Wings of Love’, they still have a daunting task coming, since Coco Martin has been able to thrive as twins in an adaptation of a Fernando Poe, Jr. classic.
That said, rough waters still lie ahead for GMA. Even with all the changes that took place, it’s still not easy defeating the ever-superior Primetime Bida of the Kapamilya network.
Another last minute change. GMA is already on its downfall.
And their fans can’t accept the fact that their beloved network is on its way to their demise.
Not really a demise, but just a struggle
Ayaw kasi matanggap ng mga fantards ang kanilang posibleng tadhana ng Kapuso…. but yeah, this is just a struggle to think of it.
It’s a case of not admitting their weaknesses.
No wonder that Gilberto Duavit, Sr. admitted defeat in “The Kapuso Story (2010)” by saying that despite winning many awards in the local and international scene, especially during the 90’s, the money and ratings wasn’t in their programs (including news and public affairs), thus, they remained a poor second. It was also said and heard that GMA was contented with being second place, when Nards was at the helm.
Indeed. The stubbornness of GMA won’t help in this day and age, especially if their resources are starving at best.
And Kapuso fantards need to accept this factual truth, no matter how costly or painful it is.
May bagong plug ang GMA for Little Nanay’s timeslot.
Just great. GMA’s PR department gives us confusing schedules which result in last-minute schedule changes. I repeat, GMA is now on its downfall.
With all that kagulo sa schedule, it may be a matter of time before they finally decided to avoid Kathniel and JaDine by airing Kapuso Primetime Cinema against them. Wala talagang direction ‘tong GMA with the way they’re planning.
Just noticed that Little Nanay premiered after Marimar. Which means, that Marimar still airs right after 24 Oras.
We all knew it already. It’s a last-minute change anew for GMA. No wonder their management is cluttered.
Wala talagang pag-asa na mananalo pa ang Little Nanay against Pangako Sa ‘Yo.
Indeed. GMA just botched it from the start.
Kantar rating result: MariMar fared higher than the premiere of Little Nanay.
Obviously it has to do with MariMar airing at an earlier timeslot on primetime, which attracts more viewers than later ones. Same goes to Ang Probinsyano and Pangako Sa ‘Yo. Declining figures per show usually attribute to people doing other chores or even preparing for bedtime.
Much worse: Halos doble ang lamang ng PSY laban sa Little Nanay last Monday ayon sa Kantar. (35.1 of PSY vs. 18.4 of Little Nanay).
Mukhang walang plano ang GMA at all.
Kung Wish I May ang nauna, it would have been better. Then again, it’s the same result.
Mas bagay pa ang Little Nanay sa pang-umagang slot. Baka may chance pa siya against Ningning before Ryzza takes over.
