‘The Cure’ was no match for ‘Ang Probinsyano’ and it was not even close. The latter continued to dominate its timeslot with a near 30% ratings advantage over the former, and with Alden Richards’ ‘Victor Magtanggol’ waiting in the wings, how much longer can GMA take this humiliation?

A CAT may have nine lives but GMA’s such a numerical attempt failed to beat down the unstoppable supervirus of Mother Ignacia (i.e. FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano).
By Friday (July 27), The Cure (dir. Mark A. Reyes) will close out with 65 episodes with, unsurprisingly, no signs of finale fanfare from social media handles.

From the Tube 
Let’s be frank here, ang yabang ng GMA sa The Cure. Sabi nang sabi sila na ito ang palabas na makakatalo sa Ang Probinsyano, ito raw yung unang zombie serye, ito daw yung seryeng maraming special effect, etc. The directors, the actors, GMA’s PR department, and to some extent even the fans, were all at faul here. Yan tuloy, nakarma sila.
GMA even thought na magiging ‘viral’ daw ito sa social media. But that didn’t happen either. Overall this series became another victim of Cardo’s dominance. If I were Jennylyn Mercado, lumipat na lang siya sa Dos at maging kontrabida sa AP. Ika nga, if you can’t beat them, join them.
Nagviral nga arguably, but for the wrong reasons.
To be honest, maganda naman talaga ung concept nito. May isang sakit na nakakahawa na kumalat sa buong bansa tapos hinahanapan ng lunas. Just like The Walking Dead. Pero the execution of the concept was not done properly. Mula sa casting, production (hindi mo mawari kung tinipid), ung effects, parang ewan. Pero I really like the concept talaga, honestly, nanood nga ako nung first few episodes nito. Pero nawalan na din ako ng gana, kinalaunan. Good luck to GMA na lang.
Ang Probinsyano continuing to win big also didn’t help. Let’s face it, malakas lang talaga ang hatak ni Cardo kaya no chance from the start ang The Cure.

Sounds like a lot of GMA shows lately (like The Clash, among others).
In short, even their creative side is faltering as well. Must be all that pressure to deliver.
