Elmo, Janella Team Up in Born for You

The most talked-about Kapamilya series in recent memory is hitting the small screen this Monday.

Enter ‘Born for You’, the upcoming ABS-CBN teleserye that will be headlined by two of the country’s up-and-coming young stars. The series will mark the Kapamilya debut of Elmo Magalona, as well as Primetime Bida’s introduction to Janella Salvador.

Named after a hit song by David Pomeranz (his own rendition is prominently featured in this series), ‘Born for You’ is a story of two individuals who share a common bond for music. Sam (Janella) is an upcoming Filipino singer who grew up in Japan, while Kevin (Elmo) is a teen hearthrob and the son of an OPM icon.

Sam believed in a red string of fate, a concept which connects two people that are destined to meet each other wherever they are in the world. It is that string which helped link both Sam and Kevin, but their parents’ shocking musical past might also break it all up.

‘Born for You’ will also star Ariel Rivera, Vina Morales, Ayen Laurel, Bernard Palanca, Gina Pareño, Freddie Webb, Jimboy Martin, Joj Agpangan, Francis Magundayao, Smokey Manaloto, Ogie Diaz, Katya Santos, DJ Durano, Alfred Labatos, Kyline Alcantara, Paulo O’Hara, Neil Coleta, and Young JV. It will be directed by Onat Diaz and Jon Villarin.

In the weeks leading up to the premiere of ‘Born for You’, a lot is said about its promising story and the hype brought on by the fresh pairing of Elmo and Janella. That, coupled by the viewers’ overall excitement over the series, helped ‘Born for You’ become an immediate trending topic on social media.

With so much anticipation surrounding ‘Born for You’, this could spell trouble for its opponent, GMA’s ‘Juan Happy Love Story’. The comedy-drama starring Dennis Trillo and Heart Evangelista has not fared well from the beginning, and it could get worse against a younger love team like Elmo and Janella.

As ‘Born for You’ premieres this Monday, expect no less than a first impression. It is now up to Elmo Magalona and Janella Salvador to take them to ratings heaven.

‘Born for You’ airs weeknights starting this Monday after ‘Dolce Amore’ on ABS-CBN’s Primetime Bida.

PBB Livestream Returns As New Housemates Arrive

‘Pinoy Big Brother: 737”s live stream on SkyCable and iWanTV makes its return, albeit in a limited run.

Subscribers of both SkyCable and iWanTV can now access the PBB live stream every Monday to Friday from 7:37 to 10:00 p.m. This was announced via the official Pinoy Big Brother Facebook and Twitter accounts.

Previously, ABS-CBN canceled the PBB live stream amid controversy surrounding the so-called ‘bromance’ between Bailey May and Kenzo Gutierrez. The incident eventually led to the MTRCB enforcing various sanctions on the reality series, some of which were eventually relaxed as the cast of teen housemates shrink.

The return of the PBB live stream service coincided with the arrival of 12 regular housemates inside the Big Brother house. There was a surprising twist involving one housemate, however.

For the first time ever, a housemate was allowed to bring in his wife and child to the Big Brother house, as Philip Lampart, the ‘Determined Dad ng Australia’, was given this provision by ‘Kuya’. The ensuing task given by ‘Kuya’ was to force the housemates to act as ‘babies’ in order to welcome Philip and his family.

In all, 14 people (not including ‘Kuya’ and the production team) are currently occupying the ‘Bahay ni Kuya’: the 12 housemates plus Philip’s wife and son. Here are the other 11 regular housemates:

  • Charlhone Petro (Ang Soldiers’ Boy ng Pampanga)
  • Krizia Lusuegro (Madiskarteng Inday ng Iloilo)
  • Margo Midwinter (Independent Sweetheart ng Manila)
  • Dawn Chang (Bombshell Baker ng Parañaque)
  • Miho Nishida (Sexy Mommy ng Japan)
  • James Linao (Worldwide Worker ng Surigao)
  • Jyo Yokohama (Mr. Kulit ng Japan)
  • Roger Lutero (Tour Guide Tatay ng Bacolod)
  • Jessica Marasigan (California Dreamgirl ng U.S.A.)
  • Mikee Agustin (Bungisngis Bebot ng Bulacan)
  • Richard Juan (Charming Chinito ng Parañaque)

The entry of the 12 regular housemates came after the announcement of the final four teen housemates. The teen ‘Big Four’ are:

  • Ylona Garcia (Daldal Darling ng Australia)
  • Franco Rodriguez (Totoy Smiley ng Albay)
  • Jimboy Martin (Barrio Rapper ng Nueva Vizcaya)
  • Bailey May (Global Gwapito ng U.K.)

The teen ‘Big Four’ officially left the Big Brother house last August 8 to prepare for the Teen Power: The Kabataang Pinoy Concert Party this August 14, but not before ‘Kuya’ gave them two additional tasks. These involve preparations for the concert, and the selection of which regular housemates they want to send to the Big Brother house first.

For more information on the ongoing ‘Pinoy Big Brother: 737’, tune in weekdays at 3:45 and 10:00 p.m., and weekends at 9:45 p.m. on ABS-CBN. As mentioned earlier, the PBB: 737 live stream service is available on weekdays from 7:37 to 10:00 p.m., exclusively on SkyCable channel 85 and iWanTV.

PBB 737 Housemates Revealed Ahead of Season Premiere

Once again, ‘Pinoy Big Brother”s unpredictable nature manifests itself.

In a buildup to the premiere of ‘Pinoy Big Brother: 737’, the producers decided not to wait for the premiere to reveal this season’s cast of housemates. Instead, some of the housemates were announced during various live ABS-CBN programs.

Five new housemates have been introduced so far. They are:

Ryan Bacalla, Kid Sunshine of Cebu, 14 years old.

Bailey May, Global Gwapito of U.K., 12 years old.

Jimboy Martin, Barrio Rapper of Nueva Vizcaya, 17 years old.

Ailah Antopina, Faithful Daughter of Bacolod, 13 years old.

Kamille Filoteo, Teen Mama of Manila. 16 years old.

Two other housemates will be revealed later today, with the rest of the cast following suit in tomorrow’s season premiere.

So far, the housemates revealed for PBB: 737 were in their teens, hinting at the possibility of this season being the latest ‘teen’ edition. Last year’s ‘Pinoy Big Brother: All In’ used a mix of teens, celebrities and regular housemates, a first in the ‘Big Brother’ franchise.

‘Pinoy Big Brother: 737’ will be aired every day at these times:

  • Weekdays after ‘Nasaan Ka Nang Kailangan Kita’ on Kapamilya Gold
  • Weeknights after ‘Aquino & Abunda Tonight’ on Primetime Bida
  • Saturday nights after ‘Maalaala Mo Kaya’
  • Sunday nights after ‘Rated K’

PBB: 737 will also be available live and on-demand via iWanTV and on livestreaming via the ABS-CBN entertainment website. Bianca Gonzalez, Toni Gonzaga and Robi Domingo will be the hosts for this season.

‘Pinoy Big Brother: 737’ will mark the 10th anniversary of the ‘Pinoy Big Brother’ franchise.
