In 100 Words: Controversial Miley Lands on Top

A few weeks ago Miley Cyrus notoriously made headlines at the MTV Video Music Awards for performing in a nude-colored bikini and twerked in front of a live audience. Days later, she again made headlines for her nude appearance in the music video for ‘Wrecking Ball’, which again earned the ire of the critics and the appreciation of music lovers.

‘Wrecking Ball’, from her fourth studio album ‘Bangerz’, shot to No. 1 in the Billboard Hot 100 this week, thanks in part to high YouTube viewership. Cyrus has come a long way from ‘Hannah Montana‘, and her first No. 1 US single was a testament to her willingness to change as she aged, no matter how controversial it can be.
